Becoming a Resident
Francis House accepts referrals from physicians, clergy, hospitals, home care agencies, family members and prospective residents themselves.
Candidates for Francis House residency have a terminal illness diagnosis with a prognosis of three months or less life expectancy and an illness progressing at a steady rate.
Francis House admits residents regardless of their religion, gender, age, race/national origin/ethnicity, sexual orientation or ability to pay for their care. To learn more about Francis House and our care, visit the Our Care page.
Residents are admitted into Francis House based on medical need. Those with the greatest need are offered bedrooms first, regardless of when the referral was placed. When a bedroom becomes available, each prospective resident is reviewed for eligibility and need at that time.
