The Youth Auxiliary supports the mission of Francis House: to provide unconditional love and a home-like setting for those facing terminal illnesses so they can die with dignity and experience the unconditional love of God. Francis House welcomes all residents regardless of faith, ethnicity, or ability to pay for their care.
Created in 2005, the Youth Auxiliary of Francis House is a volunteer membership organization led by local high school students who are guided by our core values of compassion, acceptance, respect, and dignity. With members of the Francis House Auxiliary and Francis House staff as advisors, Youth Auxiliary members take part in a variety of volunteer activities and projects to support the Francis House ministry. Members also gain a greater understanding of the importance of volunteering and service in one’s community.
Youth Auxiliary activities include:
- Attending monthly meetings from September to May
- Listening to engaging speakers about our core values
- Creating special gifts for our residents
- Preparing and donating fresh baked goods to the house
- Beautifying outdoor areas that provide tranquility and calm to residents and their families
- Decorating to make holidays festive for the Francis House Family
Youth Auxiliary projects include:
- Making and selling bracelets to raise funds for Francis House
- Organizing pantry drives in area schools and businesses
- Writing notes of encouragement and prayer to residents
The Youth Auxiliary provides volunteer support at Francis House events, including:
- Francis House’s signature fundraising event, There’s No Place Like Home, held each October
- The Francis House Auxiliary’s Annual Fashion Show & Luncheon, held each May
Our members are rising leaders and eager volunteers, compassionate and committed. They seek to develop core life skills like leadership, self-confidence, communication, problem-solving, team building, and trust through service, learning, and volunteering. By caring for others and working together, the Youth Auxiliary members make a positive impact on and significant contribution to the Francis House mission.

We are in the beginning stages of starting a Francis House Youth Auxiliary Alumni group and would love for former members to join!
We will keep them up-to-date with what is happening and invite alumni to be ambassadors of Francis House and its mission among their peers. We are blessed to have had such talented young people in our Francis House Family. We can’t wait to hear more about where their path has led them over the years! Our alumni’s connection to our mission and the residents we serve is inspiring.
