Francis House will host its annual fundraiser, There’s No Place Like Home, on Wednesday, October 14 to support its mission of providing a home and supportive family to people with terminal illnesses. The annual event returns to the New York State Fairgrounds Horticulture Building to celebrate 30 years and the 35th anniversary of Francis House.
“This special event brings the community together to commemorate our loved ones,” said Francis House Executive Director Rob Myers. “There’s deep meaning and transformation that happens at end-of-life. We are honored to do this work and grateful to the community for knowing our value.”
There’s No Place Like Home draws over 2,000 attendees for an inspiring evening of celebration and giving. Guests purchase keys for a chance at unlocking the doors of eight prize houses and can also win cash and prizes in the raffle and silent auction. Participants look forward to a variety of prize items including dinner for a year at local restaurants, trip experiences, and for this year an emerald gem in celebration of Francis House’s 35th anniversary.
New to this year’s event, guests will be welcomed with video stories from the Francis House community of volunteers, families, caregivers, and staff, offering deeper insight into the organization’s mission and ministry.
“There’s No Place Like Home celebrates the love, family, and sacred care that defines the Francis House community. It’s not your typical fundraiser event – you will laugh, cry, see and be seen, and be inspired to give back to a cause we are all connected to in some way,” said Pamela Speach, Francis House’s Special Projects Coordinator.
Admission is $50 per person and includes an open bar of beer and wine, eight gourmet food stations, and two dessert tables. Paper tickets are required for entry and will be mailed in advance or can be purchased the night of the event.
