We are blessed by the kindness and compassion of our caregivers at Francis House. Lindsey Mooney has been working at Francis House for two years. Her smile brings joy to all who are around her. Thank you for the compassion, acceptance, respect, and dignity you bring to each resident and family member we welcome into Francis House.
What inspired you to join Francis House?
“I wasn’t just looking for a “job.” I was looking for a career, something I loved and enjoyed. At Francis House, I get to help and care for residents and their families. I get to be there for them, listen to their amazing stories, and share smiles and laughs every day. I love to meet new people and invite them into our Francis House Family.”
What is your favorite memory from your time working as a caregiver?
“There are so many memories that are special to me, and it is hard to pick just one. Being able to care for someone while they are getting ready for their next journey, I can assure them that they are not alone. I love being able to make our residents smile, even on their worst days. I’ve learned that small acts of kindness can truly make someone’s day.”
What is the most valuable lesson you’ve learned working at Francis House?
“I would say the most valuable lesson I’ve learned is the power of empathy. It provides so much comfort to those who are in their last days. Learning from those at the end-of-life has given me a greater appreciation for our life’s journey. Life is precious.”
